At this point I have completed most of the work for my certificate and have acquired some experience in a long term care facility. I am now looking for regular employment working with the elderly, either in long term care or a non-care setting. I am available for full or parttime work at any time except Tuesday mornings.

WORK EXPERIENCE

OCEAN VIEW MANOR Recreation grant staff This position, funded through a grant from the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, was with the recreation therapy department of Ocean View Manor. Most of my time was spent with residents of the dementia units, in individual and small group activities both on and off the units. ELITE COURIER Courier, owner, benefits manager I was with Elite Courier for eleven years and was a partner in the company for about nine years.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

ALZHEIMER SOCIETY OF NOVA SCOTIA, 1998-99 The Alzheimer Society has compiled a book on its history. I edited and wrote part of the text. NORTHWOODCARE INCORPORATED, 1999-2000 I have been working through the Leisure and Recreation office with residents who have had strokes, and in other programs. NORTHWOODCARE INCORPORATED, 1999 The Eden Journey program at Northwood is compiling biographies of the residents. I have been involved in interviewing residents and familiy members.
